Tantra is a Science of Power which activates the various inactive vital glands and chakras of astral form, which are present in the human body to get liberation and power. Tantra means expansion of mind and liberation of energy. Tantra is a kind of science for developing KUNDALINI, a way of knowledge both for understanding the outer world and the inner psyche. We can use Tantra not only for liberation but also for the ordinary goals of life. Tantric approach is very practical and aims at a personal relationship between ourselves and cosmic reality and with the help of Tantra one can compel the divine power to help and forces it to grant the desired results. In our ordinary society man and woman represent Shiva and Shakti so as in tantra also but in spiritual life, mind and prana represent shiva and shakti. We can divide Tantra in two parts i.e. RIGHT HANDED and LEFT HANDED path. Right handed path emphasizes on Meditation and Spiritual Principles of high degree and on the other hand Left handed path generally emphasizes on various things which are generally forbidden in the most of Yogic traditions such as sexual union, wine or intoxicants, meat, fish and monetary gains. Tantra aims at a personal relationship between ourselves and cosmic reality which is to directly experience truth in our daily lives, it teaches us that consciousness is the only reality in the universe and is worshipped as Shakti, generally translated as power, whereas the God or cosmic masculine worshipped as Shiva means Peace. In Tantra Shakti acts as the power of wisdom and devotion, which is the power of peace (Shiva). Shakti as woman has the power and potency to create new life and she has the energy of beauty, delight and creativity, whereas Shiva is passivity of will. These days actual Tantra is losing its shine and new Sexual Tantra is emerging as a multi-million dollar industry in most of the countries, with a flurry of Tantric Experts, videos and books offering a variety of sexual rituals (techniques) to get indescribable new lights of sexual pleasure (which are basically a Kamsutra techniques not the tantric) for individuals, couples and groups. Tantra emphasize on sexual union but it does not mean that we indulge ourselves in free sex because in Tantra actually sexual intercourse is defined as the path to super consciousness which is used occasionally in order to break through attachments, particularly the attachment to purity. The fundamental principle of Tantra is that spiritual progress is not to be achieved by shunning or avoiding our desires and passions but only by transforming those very elements which makes us fall as a means of liberation, so we should develop a sense of true love, devotion and affection for our beloved (God). |
